Amazing article in the New Yorker about Hospice care and how we talk about death
This was definitely one of the most difficult pieces of writing I’ve read in a while but also possibly one of the most important. The way our society and medical system talks about and deals with death and terminal illness is something that directly influences the way we die and the quality of our end of life experiences. It is excruciating to think about, but one of those things I think everyone needs to. If is it not too close to home for you to read this and get through, please do, and pass it on to your loved ones.
